Lawn repair, overseeding and new lawn seeding

If your lawn is worn out, thin or bare in spots, I can fix it. I repair worn lawns, overseed thin ones and seed new lawns, and I feed them with compost and mixes I make myself. It's safe for your kids and pets.

A beautiful lush lawn, guaranteedI keep working on your lawn until it gets there.

What I do

Three ways to fix a lawn

Which one your lawn needs depends on whether it's bare in spots, thin all over, or starting from bare ground. Plenty of lawns need more than one.

  1. Repairing worn-out lawns

Bare patches, worn paths and spots that never came back. I rework the soil in those areas, add compost and seed them so they fill back in with the rest of the lawn.

  2. Overseeding

Overseeding is spreading new seed over a lawn you already have. It's for grass that's thin all over rather than bare in spots, and it thickens the whole lawn up.

  3. New lawn seeding

For bare ground: a new build, a torn-up yard, or a lawn that's too far gone to save. I prepare the soil with compost and seed a new lawn from scratch.

  4. I also do landscape bed mulching. Ask about it with your lawn estimate.
Before and after

One backyard, May to June

A Shelburne backyard I seeded in 2021. The first photo is from May 7, a few days in, with the first grass just showing. The second is the same yard on June 30.

How I do it

Compost and my own mixes

I use compost on the lawns I work on, and I make my own mixes for fertilizing and repair. After 19 years creating and maintaining lawns, lawn repair is still the part of the work I like most.

  • Compost in every repair

Compost goes into the soil on repair and seeding jobs.

  • My own organic mixes

I make the mixes I use for fertilizing and repair.

  • Safe for kids and pets

My organic lawn care and repair is safe for your kids and pets.

How it works

How a lawn job goes

From the first call to new grass coming in, most lawn jobs follow the same five steps.

  1. Tell me about your lawn

Call or text, leave a voicemail, or fill out the estimate form. Photos help.

  2. I come and look

I always see a lawn in person before I quote it, usually the next day. You don't have to be home.

  3. Your estimate, next morning

I send you the estimate the morning after I've seen the lawn.

  4. I do the work

Repair, seeding or overseeding, fed with compost and my own mixes.

  5. Your responsibility

Watering, mowing and leaf pickup are on you once the seed is down. I'll tell you how.

  • It depends on the size of the area and what it needs. I come and look at it, then send you an estimate the next morning.
